Killyliss Studio makes a range of handmade celtic gifts. These include chess sets, wall plaques,clocks,mirrors and brooches. All gifts are guaranteed hand made in Ireland.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Sell Irish gifts to an international market

In August 2008 and it was an e commerce site
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I have been running Killyliss Studio since 1991 therefore it was a logical choice
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
All gifts on this site are designed and hand made by me.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I would like to grow this shop and be able to earn a good living from its sales
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Hard to say as i am only learning about e commerce
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would use all the most recent on line marketing tools available to sucessfully promote my site.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes i would employ and train additional members of staff to cater for this eventuality.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
I found that having little knowledge of the web meant that i was paying a lot for a very poor level of technical advice and workmanship
What has been your biggest challenge?
To get my website a decent level of traffic

Too early to say
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It is a steep learning curve but very satisfying when the penny finally drops!!!
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I have only taken personal control of this site a few weeks ago after i realised that it was going no where and needed to be properly promoted on the net.
