Cork's Business Blog promote's local companies in Cork City and County.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

To assist local people find local information.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

September 2007

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Cork's Business Blog was ideal, it says exactly what it is.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

It provides an insight into the actual business and their product offerings

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To continue promoting Cork Businesses.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

At the moment my time is the biggest overhead, hopefully over time the site will become more managable.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would spend more time getting content for my site.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

I would do my best. I'm happy to work long hours, 7 days a week but ideally I would like it to be more balanced.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Nothing so far - I'm sure things will crop up though.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Working remotely, I am hoping to be in Cork very soon - this should make everything easier.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

I use various methods, all wth different degree's of success.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

I've been involved in IT for 20 years, so I knew what to expect.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

I'm hoping to run it for the foreseeable future.
