How did you decide on a name for your website?
My nephew is an IT Professional and he handled all the techno stuff
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Clean, clear, crisp, easily presented information, professional enough to encourage new business but not over complicated
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Increase worldwide sales and develop our business model
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
So far, so good!!!
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Open showrooms in other countries.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes, there are lots of opportunities in India, I have been here over 10 years and not looked back! Over 10 years I have established a good working relationship with the quarries, stone carvers and exporters here in India and I know that we can meet any order in a timely, profesional and competitive manner.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Just the usual really, chasing people up and making sure that they keep up there end of the bargain, making sure deadlines are met, that customers are satisfied, that any problems are resolved quickly.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Managing shipments to other countries, ensuring items are delivered in the best condition possible, within the time frame and to budget, recently oil prices have had an adverse affect on shipping in general.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Search engines, directories and of course word of mouth!
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It hasn't really, everything seems to be running smoothly.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
10 years one month in to it and expect to run it for the foreseeable future.
