Please give us a short summary of your website?
We are a web/ICT development which provides web design, hosting, domain registration, and Search Engine Optimization services in Ghana. We also do design for print media, as well as digital editing.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Darrel Technology was established to create an alternative way of advertising and marketing in Kumasi-Ghana. Our services are engineered to reduce the cost of IT services in the city.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
My first website was launched in 2006. It was www.darrelconceptsghana.com
How did you decide on a name for your website?
using my name and the ideas that i have inbedded in my mind.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
Our services are more affordable, and have a different approach. Basically, we don't go according to the status quo. we offer more flexiblity and accessiblity for our clients, especially with our one-to-one approach. We don't ecpect the clients to always come to us, we take our services directly to their door-steps.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Darrel Technologies aims to be one of the leading ICT service providers in West-Africa. We plan to offer a whole new range of services in the future, apart from the ones we currently offer.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Rome was not built in a day. I strongly believe that- Building an empire takes a lot of sweat, courage and determination, and that Maintaining that empire is even more difficult than building it. I have dedicated a lot of time, money and energy into building Darrel Technologies and i am bent on dedicating even more of that into maintaining it.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
i would increase capacity on the services i currently offer, update the site to reflect the new ICT services i will be introducing.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Definitely! i have the right manegerial capabilities as well as a good team behind me to effectively manage anything". I also know how to get the right people into the team if the need arises.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
nothing unexpected so far. all the costs i have incurred have all been expected, because they had been planned. besides at D-Tech we have the data systems in place to avoid ill occurences. But in terms of headaches, unreliable ISP's have contributed a great deal.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Securing the right Service Providers and staff to work with.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Link Building and SEO
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Not much really. I actually anticipated most of the challenges/outcomes i have faced so far.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
the site has currently been running for 2 years, and will be running forever.
