France house for sale www.jeenius.com Interview
Name of your website?

www.jeenius.com

Your name?

Pamela Jeen

Your Location (city, etc)

Dompierre les Ormes

Please give us a short summary of your website?

It is primarily a site from which people can buy unusual gifts. I also have a house for sale so put it on my page and a blog about living in France

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I was moving from the UK to France and wanted an easy way to buy and have delivered all sorts of presents to family and friends still living in the U.K. I found it tedious to go through all the pages on offer on the web so chose a few companies I thought offered a good choice of value and quirky items.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I launched it in 2003

How did you decide on a name for your website?

My family name is JEEN so it is simply a play on that

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

I have not found a similar site

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To provide an income

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Truthfully I am not getting a huge return on either

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would advertise on T.V as I see my site similar to those others like Confused.com - I belive I had the multiple choice site before they did - I could of course be very wrong

I would add a few more clients to my site to increase the choice.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes. I have no need of staff as my site simply links to the other companies executing the sale.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

One company cut my link as it had not been used enough

What has been your biggest challenge?

Trying to promote the site. There are plenty big boys out there who take up all the top places in Google

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Not sure

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It has been difficult to promote within a small budget. If you put jeenius into Google i am on the front page but if you put unusual gifts in it the site is just lost

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

I have run it for four years now and I will run it as long as I continue to get enjoyment from it

Has your experience been able to help others?

Yes I became friendly with the owners of the local hotel Hostellerie d'Heloise in Cluny and I translated their page and created a link in English link:- http://www.hostelleriedheloise.com

What is your website address?

www.jeenius.com
