Name of your website?

English to French translation

Your name?

Florence

Your Location (city, etc)

Tiffauges

Please give us a short summary of your website?

My website is about offering my translation services into French, plus editing, proofreading texts that are already in this language - and copywriting.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I need to find my clients abroad, in English speaking countries.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I think that it was in 1995, about my other activities (arts)

How did you decide on a name for your website?

It just describes what I do so it was not so hard to find...

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

I have no particular pretence of being different, I just tried to make it nice to have a look at, and as clearly showing my offering as possible.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

I hope to meet more nice clients with interesting projects :-)

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Thanks to my website and my being registered on a translation portal (proz.com), I am now working full time

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I don't think that I would have any use of a large budget, I like to tweak my website myself and that's part of the game to me.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

When I have too many requests, I choose the most interesting projects - there's no way I could translate ten thousand words a day anyway...

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

French social contributions are rather expensive and often have to be paid in advance...

What has been your biggest challenge?

Each job is a big challenge since they are all different, and that's exactly what's interesting.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Link exchanges

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

I started this site in 2002, I have older sites (for other aspects of my work and for fun)

What is your website address?

English to French translation
