When did you start your website and why?
This website is an american version (California and other states) from my original website, l'Annonce, I created in 1998 for France and french speaking countries.
Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc
All my website depends on advertising, and only Google adsense. For french edition, I sell job offers.
What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?
Learning Internet software development since 1998 ;) Create international version of website was not very difficult. I develop now since 1998 and today I master this skill (Linux, Perl, Mod_perl and so on).
What has been the easist part of operating your website?
Easiest part was rent a server in USA (Scottsdale, Arizona) ;)
What was your biggest mistake?
don't create international website earlier.
Who maintains your website and why?
me and only me, website doesn't bring back enough money to employ somebody else. And it is funny, with international version, to learn and practice another language (English, Spanish today, learning German, Italian or russian later, don't forget Europe has (too?) many different languages).

my website is my business.
What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?
Expansion is not finished. I think we are at the beginning of ecommerce yet. And Internet will continue to take a biggest part in our life (USA, Europe and rest of the world). It is a very good thing because there will be no more borders between people.
What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
It is a rough skill, difficult to master beacuse rules can be completely changed tomorrow. But nevertheless basis would not must changed (webpages with a good structure).
What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?
Simply, without SEO, I don't exist.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Time. Website exists since almost ten years in french. Website is indexed since long years.
What method has been least successful for promoting your website?
frame pages. At beginning, frames was necessary to increase loading of pages, but frames are today badly indexed. I had given up frames in 2003.
What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?
Means to manage spam efficiently ;)
