Name of your website?Tons Of Tickets
Your name?
Krissy
Your Location (city, etc)
Hollywood
Please give us a short summary of your website?
A great place to find tickets to all major events: sports, concerts, theater, Broadway, and even Las Vegas shows!
What inspired you to launch your own website?
The ability to work from home after graduating college.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
6 months ago - www.TennisTicketNews.com - a tennis website that sells tickets to major tournaments around the world, offers player profiles, news articles, and more. (I played tennis in high school and college and it is a passion of mine)
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I wanted something simple that people could remember and it had to include the contents of the site.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
My website offers tickets to almost any event you can think of
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
My eventual goal is to make a full time job off this site and enjoy the advantages of working from home.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Like any business, it takes a while to set up and become comfortable. The more time you put into it, the more money (hopefully) you get out of it.
If you had an unlimited budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would give it to someone who knows a lot more than I do about building websites.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes. Fortunately, this has already become a family business and I am happy to say I have more than enough people willing to help.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
None so far (lets hope it stays that way)
What has been your biggest challenge?
Time management
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Free advertising (word-of-mouth, flyers, online discussion boards...)
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
I was pretty computer illiterate coming into it, so the learning process surprised me.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Fairly new - not even 1 month. I will keep it forever until I have a reason to sell it.
How is it being your own boss?
Harder than I thought. The hours are great but staying on track can be somewhat difficult without someone telling you what to do.
