a website designed for both applicants and families to find useful - you will find advice and information for au pairs and nannies, mother's helps and housekeepers, tips on settling into a family, Home Office guidelines, explanations on how I work...and application and registration forms for all.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
It was vital as I deal with applicants right across Europe and Australasia.

April 2007, www.normalewisaupairs.co.uk
How did you decide on a name for your website?
It went with my business - and I pride myself on my service, so I put my own name to my Agency.... no fancy /irrelevant name to hide behind!
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
Clarity, and the fact it is comprehensive and straightforward to use. Applicants, even those with basic english, can find their way around it.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Early days, but going well

I'd have a good go!!!
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
So many as to be almost unlistable. Major one was the website, and also researching and writing all my legal forms / registration forms etc, Also sourcing agents overseas.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Finding the energy to work 12 -16 hours a day, 7 days a week!
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Leafleting
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Much more difficult to find a competent person to write it and then another for optimisation.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
7 months / as long as my business is going
