Welcome to ConnectAlex.com we are a community website for Alexandria, Egypt. Where friends meet, share pictures, upload videos, chat, instant message...connect in Alex.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
We needed a place to connect with each other and meet friends and make new friends.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Connect Alex is exactly what we were wanting to accomplish so the name was perfect.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
Membership is free.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I will keep it for additional income.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
It's too early to tell the site has been up less than one month.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would add a business directory, a classified section, an additional Calendar of events, an entertainment section...
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
I would put people to work so that we could maintain it.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
So far no headaches!
What has been your biggest challenge?
Submitting to other sites is very time consuming.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
To early to tell yet.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
No surprises so far but I do expect something to "break".
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Almost a month and I plan to keep it for as long as possible.
