A little history of ourselves, We have holidayed in Cyprus for over 16 years, and know the Island quite well, why did we decide to stay? when we found we were returning 5 times a year, and were coming up to retirement, we thought " what better place to live" warm winters and lowish prices, excellent low cost rental/purchase properties, and generally a safer and more relaxing way of life, compared to the U.K. We have made friends locally and enjoy a better social life. We meet our friends regularly for light bite lunch at favorite tavernas, also Sunday lunchtime at out of the way places for exquisite Buffet style meals, at many of or regular haunts it is not unusual to be offered complimentary liqueurs or coffee, nice tradition in Cyprus.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Just to expand our circle of friends and help others do the same

January 2008 to introduce people who live or are thinking of living in Cyprus
How did you decide on a name for your website?
The name of the site says it all make friends in paphos cyprus
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
It's non commercial, charges no fees,and you can take or give as much as you want
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To keep making friends and expand the social awareness for ex pats in Paphos Cyprus

More friends
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I wouldn't
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
The more friends that join us the easier it gets as anyone can post to our blog and give help
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
None pretty straight forward, but choosing the right web hosting site helped as there is a 24 hr helpline with people who care
What has been your biggest challenge?
the initial thoughts and what we were looking to do
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
as it is a very local site promotion is by word of mouth on related web sites i.e. ex pats cyprus.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
I thought it would attract more interest but it is early days yet 21st January 2007
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
one month and it depends how involved other people become
