Name of your website?

Naugatuck Valley Hardwoods, LLC

Your name?

Timothy M. Clark

Your Location (city, etc)

Prospect, CT. 06712

Please give us a short summary of your website?

We sell domestic and exotic hardwoods, for furiture makers, cabinet makers, special wood working projects, sequenced logs. We have 25 years of experience working with domestic and exotic woods. Knowing and understanding the process of working with a variety of wood, helps to understand and work with our customers.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Our business required an internet site to display our products.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

2007, It is the same as it is today, with updates, new photos.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

After a lot of discussion with may partner. Running down a name to identify our business name and the web address. Not as easy as we thought.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

We show lots of pictures, prices and dimentions of the wood we sell. The site visitor has a number of ways to contact us, phone, email.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

The goal is to grow our business, add more products, and keep doing what we enjoy. Our customers are our most important asset!

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Sometimes it is a tough task. While we have been doing this, we are always looking for good product, offering our product at a fair price, and lisening to our customers to keep what they want in stock.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Expand out of our region, go national with a bigger web site, more stock, and larger mail order.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

We would love this. Growing is a good thing. we would add staff, reconfigure our ordering process, and spend more time looking for those really unique pieces.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Print advertising versus web site SEO.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Getting the word out about our company. making sure the SEO, is always an ongoing project.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

SEO, and print to drive eyeballs to the website to generate sales.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

There is a tendency to think the site updates itself, so having a mindset to look at it as a potential client would, and update, update!

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

The website has been up for nearly two years. we will always have a web presence, and continue to grow and expand it.

What is your website address?
