What inspired you to launch your own website?
Building my own business from scratch.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
September 2006, this one.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
The late Alan Crowe, NAPPS administrator suggested it to me.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
My imagination, creativity and passion for this profession.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Keep it for income.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
I'm slowly getting better with it.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I'd have to cross that bridge when I came to it.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Sure
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Fortunately not many.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Starting from scratch, on a shoestring budget.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
So far, my Dex Yellow Pages ad and NAPPS membership.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
I had to learn how to do better html coding myself, instead of depending on software.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I've been running it since September 2006 and will never give up.
What's the greatest thing that you still need to improve, to find business success for yourself?
My marketing skills.
