Name of your website?Trax2 China Maps
Your name?
Bill
Your Location (city, etc)
DaLi, YunNan, China
When did you start your website and why?
2005, As an expat living in China, I could not find good clear English/Chinese Maps, so I started designing and printing my own. This is just the short story, the whole story would take too long to tell or write here.
Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc
www.zhongguolu.com is the collection of all my China maps, which out grew my main website (www.trax2.com) collected here into one manageable site under one topic of Trax2 China Maps.
What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?
The most difficult part is not the running of the site but in adding unique map content as everything is design and draw by myself, unlike most other similar map sites which take content and editorial indiscriminately and use it as their own.
What was your biggest mistake?
Making an unique all graphic site which is very unfriendly to search bots, but very pleasing for human beings
What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?
People are too lazy to really look deep for some thing and rely on the top search results too much, as usually the top are rubbish, tricks of the trade to get there, and the good sites get buried. There needs to be some human element that checks the top 50 or so and kick out the bad one out.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Never to give up but to keep on keeping on !!!!
You can enter a question of your choice and the answer here:
