When did you start your website and why?
I started my web site on April 1, 2007 (not a joke, it happens to be my birthday!) I got this idea with real Swedish recipes on T-shirts, and wanted to share it with other fellow Swedish emigrants and friends thereof.
Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc
Famous Swedish recipes printed on cool T-shirts, mugs, tote bags and other gifts. Also Swedish slogans and Runskrift (old nordic writing) are included in the collection. I also offer personalized T-shirts with for example your own name in Runskrift.
What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?
The most difficult thing is to get it out there, to let people know my stuff is there for them. It was also tricky to figure out how to hyperlink and other fancy things, since I was a complete computer idio.
What has been the easist part of operating your website?
Once I figured out how to do things, it's easy to go in and change and update.
What was your biggest mistake?
To advertise without hyperlinking.
Who maintains your website and why?
I do it myself, because I make virtually no money on my products. It is all a hobby and a service to my fellow Swedish expatriots and our friends.
Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?
It makes it so much easier to advertise, to give ppl a website to go to and check out all the products and read about the idea.
What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?
As the young generation is growing up, it will take over all commerce. They're not going to go out and face the crowds by shopping in crowded places, when you can sit at home and do the shopping.
What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
Honestly, I don't konw what it is. Sorry.
What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?
I hope it has helped, but I don't know.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
To make sure I use the most optimized search words in my web site description.
What method has been least successful for promoting your website?
Google base ads. Totally useless. A complete waste of time and effort. The ads don't even show up when using EXACT words of the ad.
What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?
To once in a while mix up the order of the search results, so that smaller business get a better chance and get a higher ranking on the result list.
