What inspired you to launch your own website?
A deep interest and love of old Hollywood and its beginnings.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
First launched in 2001 and was called the Stars of Hollywood Forever, a page to advertise the sale of my book on the cemetery. This is the 3rd edition of the book.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Just used the name of the book in appreviated form.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Several sites cover several cemeteries where celebrities are interred. My site covers only one cemetery, the first cemetery in Hollywood where a number of stars are resting.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To secure the book that I've written.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
The investment of time is very difficult to measure, the research has taken nearly 10 years.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would hire someone to make a spectular site that would appeal to the masses.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
I would be able to keep up.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Costs of printing articles and researching online articles for information.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Finding information on the more obscure people on the site, and then finding information that left me hanging and having to search several other sources to get the final answer.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Being listed on other people's sites with similar interests.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
I'm not quite sure what my expectations were when I started but it seems to be going all right so far!
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
The site has been up for about 8 years and I hope to keep it up and running for an indefinite amount of time, depending on the success of it.
