The Americana Exchange provides a cornucopia of services for people who collect rare and antiquarian books. It offers the only search engine for worldwide book auction listings, searching over 125 auction houses and combining all results. It also offer a database of over 1.6 million bibliographic and auction records, with the number increasing virtually every day. Other features include a monthly online book collecting magazine, books for sale listings from numerous independent booksellers, and a the MatchMaker matching service that helps locate desired titles on sites such as eBay and Abebooks along with live auctions.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

While there were many sites designed to assist the bookseller, there were few if any meant to help the book collector. This site was built with the collector's needs in mind.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

It was originally intended for collectors of books in the Americana field, though today it covers all types of books from every place in the world.
