The site is about BC Salmon Fishing and Halibut fishing charters in Ucluelet BC Canada
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I have lived and fished in Ucluelet BC for over 20 years and am still amazed at the wonders of the area, the wide open pacific ocean, the trees and mountain back drops, the abundance of wildlife - whales, sealions, eagles the list goes on. I am happy to tell all about the area and I think people would like to know more about the area and the service we provide.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
I tried making web sites about 1995 and the first one was about some products I used to sell
How did you decide on a name for your website?
The ocean is wild at times and it is the pacific ocean and i do fishing charters so I came up with WildPacificCharters.com
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
The other sites don't include me, Wild AL. LOL
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To eventually retire from real work and spend my time taking out people from all over the world for BC salmon fishing and halibut fishing charters and site seeing the West Coast of Vancouver Island
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Lots of time and money to keep the boat updated with lots of fish and seafood in the freezer to survive on for the winter
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would probably have someone else do the promoting so I could just fish more
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Have to hire even more good quality guides
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Well with the word boat there is a break down for it, Break Out Another Thousand. But a lot of time it is multipule thousands
What has been your biggest challenge?
Getting more bookings so I can be out fishing, and not in front of my computer or working on the wifes Honey Do List.....
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Linking and trying to make use of good keywords
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
I didn't think it would take so much of my time, would rather be fishing
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Its been up about 5 years and I will keep it up for quite awhile yet....
Is there anything else I would rather be doing, instead of work on my website?
Silly question, but I would rather be fishing....
