Please give us a short summary of your website?
Madaweni Lifestyles is part of The Madaweni Group of companies.
It is a company designed to work with Barbadians, Caribbean nationals and foreigners to help them achieve their Caribbean lifestyles.
Our initial focus is on the property market: homes, land and investments within the region.
We intend to place a significant focus on West Indians in the diaspors and will also encourage Caribbean nationals to see the world as their play ground as they too seek international investments in property.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
A desire to reach out to the Caribbean disapora and the rest of the world to showcase the Caribbean lifestyles.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
Our website was launched on Sunday September 16th and has been geting a significant number of visitors already.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Our website has the name of the company, which is named after my favourite amerindian place in Guyana.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
The end product of our website is the lifestyle ypou want to achieve and not the purchase or rental of a property in the first instance.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Our goal is to continue to build, diversify and expand the shareholding of our company by inviting our customers to be part of the experience
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
The launch of www.madawenilifestyles.com is a more rewarding that any return on the investment. To see the end product being embraced by the marketplace and assisting people in achieving their lifestyle dream is our return.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
The site would be the most complete site in the market catering to all your lifestyle dreams.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Our expansion plans will take care of that eventuality.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
We did not have cost overruns, however deciding on design styles has bee taxing.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Preparing the information and continually updating and keepig our site relevant has been the biggest challenge.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Direct marketing to the marketplace and the circlation by the various networks.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It continues to meet expectations
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
