Please give us a short summary of your website?
Daily Tech Impressions provide short reviews on the latest in technology, science and gadgets
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Im a webmaster, a SEM and a Gadget freak. I cannot get enough of technology.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
Well my first website I launched was in 2004 and it was all based on affiliate marketing. I still use affiliate links in some of my post as well.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Well since my site is updated daily and it gives short reviews on technology I figured Daily Tech Impressions would fit it perfectly.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
Well there are other sites out there that showcase technology, but i specifically target the areas of Technology, Science and Gadgets
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I will keep it to use as a hobby for my spare time and the extra income from affiliates and advertising is an added bonus.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
well there was not much of an investment since I built the site myself and did all the marketing for it. The success of the site is going great since it is only about 3 months old and is gaining popularity rapidly with about 10,000 visitors a day.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would add a social network for technology sites to let people share their information and to network with other techy's
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes I would, plus I would hire writers and editors to publish content.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
no unexpected costs, but the Digg effect and stumble effect has slowed the site some when a good article appears on the site, but i took care of that buy replacing some of the not so necessary PHP and replaced it with html so there was not to many calls to the database.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Keeping up with the new content that is submitted to the site for a review.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Entrecard, powerdropping and social networks drive in quite a bit of traffic.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
I have always expected things to run the way they are. there has been no change.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I have run this particular site for 3 months now.
