CrownWear makes the Head Liner - The Ultimate Helmet Liner, Hat Liner, Skull Cap - to keep sweat out of you eyes and keep your head gear clean. It prevents itching, stains and odors, while keeping away sweat and maximizing comfort.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
The CrownWear Head Liner is the only universal head liner, designed for use with any type of head gear - from hats and caps to helmet and hard hats - as well as on its own. Our unique Filtration Technology (patent pending) prevents itching, stains and odors while keeping sweat out of your eyes. We also offer two Ultra-Thin versions (one specifically for comfort and one for protection) in addition to our Ultimate Head Liner, with two layers for the perfect balance of comfort and protection.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Along the way we've had many challenges, but probably the biggest was testing different fabric (and fabric combinations) to come up with the perfect balance of comfort and protection for our Filtration Technology (patent pending). It involved hundreds of sample fabric combinations, various testing apparatus, several months and over 5 gallons of human sweat.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
For instant exposure, nothing beats Google AdWords. It costs money, but you can start getting clicks within minutes (and many hosting companies will give you a free credit to get you started).
Once your site is out there, links from others in and around your industry are a huge help as you try to climb up the natural search results.
Email can be a great way to get your name out there, but it's a fine line to walk because you don't want to get labelled a spammer.
We've also had some success with off-line campaigns: printed flyers with a coupon code for use on the website, trade-show appearances and, of course, word of mouth.
