Please give us a short summary of your website?
Party supplies, costumes and d�cor with over 200 party themes for 1st ~ 100th Birthday, Theme Parties, Graduations, Anniversary or Wedding Supplies/Favours & many more, all at your fingertips and delivered to your door.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
As a mother of three small children - ages 1,2 & 3 years old, I do not have the time or patience to go shopping with my boys for party supplies. Calgary has very few party stores and the local dollar stores usually didn't carry the themes I wanted. So I decided to do it myself.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
I became a consultant for A Perfect Party By Cody in September of 2007, and got a website at the same time.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I think Canada Party Supplies is simple and direct. The title of my website needed to be self explanitory and I think it is. People know what my website is about before they even open it.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
My website is extremely user friendly - I get compliments on that all the time, the service and deliver is great and people are very pleased with the large selection of themes.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To keep going for years, even when my boys are big party supplies will still be needed - people have babies, get married, retire and have house parties everyday. Family celebrations and corporate events happen all the time and they will always needs decorations and partyware.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
So far my monitary success is not as large as my investments into advertising, however I am more and more pleased everyday with the amount of visitors and purchases.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would advertise more in my local area via radio, television and newprint. I would also establish a larger clientelle in other provinces using the same tools.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Absolutley!!
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
The cost of Google advertising is shocking - You must be very carefull or you can throw away alot of money in a short period of time.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Getting a good understanding of internet advertising and what gets the most clicks for the least amount of money
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Google - by far!!!!
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It take a huge amount of time, and sometimes I find myself still on the computer rewritting my ads at midnight!!
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I hope to do this for years and years.
